Amelia island Chamber Music Festival To Present Special Concert by Wendy Chen, Andreas Diaz and Christopher Rex on February 20, 2009
Fernandina Beach, Fl.—January 23, 2009—The Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival will present a concert, “The Romantic Cello,” featuring internationally acclaimed pianist Wendy Chen and cellist Andres Diaz on February 20 at 8:00 PM at the Amelia Plantation Chapel. The Festival’s Artistic Director and cellist, Christopher Rex, also will perform as well as preview the Festival’s upcoming 2009 season.

The Romantic Cello program will consist of works for piano and cello by Menotti, Martinu and Rachmaninoff.
Pianist Wendy Chen debuted with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under conductor Andre Previn at age 15. Since then, she has soloed with many orchestras around the world. Born in Santiago, Chile, cellist Andres Diaz has made many orchestral and recitalist appearances with symphonies in the United States, Europe, the Far East and South America. Christopher Rex is principal cellist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
A recurring venue for many Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival concerts, the Amelia Plantation Chapel is located at 36 Bowman Road, Amelia Island. The 2009 season of the Festival will run from May 21-24 and May 31-June 14. Tickets will go on sale in April.
